Who are we?
Interdisciplinary Division for Energy Analyses (IDEA), which is a part of the National Centre for
Nuclear Research (NCBJ), which is an R&D institute. We cover our costs with business and
research projects, and our salaries are competitive with the ones in analytics and consulting. We
work for European TSOs and organizations such as AXA or ENTSO-E. We successfully connect
research with business, by developing technologies that bring value to society. Examples of
projects: a tool for stochastic planning of power grid development, design of functional solutions
for DSR, tools for optimal assessment of market zones for the EU energy market, tools for
analysis and optimization power systems voltage and angle stability, etc
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of Python
- Experience with at least one of following libraries: Pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn
- Experience with Flask or similar, SQLAlchemy
- Experience with open source SQL databases
- Experience with parallel processing and / or asynchronous programing
- Familiarity with good programming practices and design patterns. We expect that you can create
- well tested and clean code
- Good knowledge: git
- Problem solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
We appreciate:
- 2+ years of experience in the field
- Experience with Cython
- Good knowledge of Linux
- Experience with CI/CD
- Experience with Dash, matplotlib or other data visualization tools
- Experience with NoSQL databases
- Passion and thirst for knowledge,
- Contribution to open source projects,
- Sharing knowledge culture
Role and Responsibilities:
- Analysis and understanding the mathematical modeler's code
- Creating production ready applications based on good coding practices
- Speeding up processing by parallelizing computation and improving overall performance of applications
- Automating processes
